3rd December – 23rd December 2016
Take a family trip to Stephenson Railway Museum this December and meet Santa Claus and his little helpers. They will be there every weekend and certain week days up to Christmas Day.
There will be plenty of entertainment for the whole family, with your visit beginning with a 4 mile train ride along the restored urban railway. Make sure your little ones keep their eyes peeled to see if they can be the first to spot Santa waiting to greet the good boys and girls. Santa will then make a special visit to the train, giving out gifts to all those lucky children on board.
Once you step off the train, you can head back the museum and receive your complimentary drinks and sweet treats! There will be costumed entertainers and Victorian musicians, as well as a chance to take part in the Christmas craft and find all of Santa’s mischievous elves

Set across the top two floors of the Monument Mall development, The Botanist opened in December 2014 and its terrace space, which caters for up to 120 people, was the spot to be for watching the Christmas lights switch on, and to see the sights of Grey Street and the Christmas markets due to its unrivalled view over Grey’s Monument. It features sheltered seating areas in garden-style tool sheds, picnic tables and outdoor heating.
