Did you know how many great areas around the North East we have to explore?

With a variety of family friendly short walks through to hikes and scrambles, there is a real array of destinations for you to visit whilst based at Hotel Indigo Newcastle. Why not use our hotel as a start to visit some of the best the North East has to offer!

National Trust

There are a number of National Trust sites throughout the North East. Our Sales Manager, Adam’s personal favourite is Cragside, situated North of Newcastle upon Tyne, in close proximity to the town of Rothbury. Here are some pictures from his last visit, including the iconic Victorian home where Lord and Lady Armstrong resided.

Hikes

Our Reservation Supervisor, Emma is into her hiking and has tackled some of the toughest challenges the North East has to face. The highest point of Northumberland National Park is the peak at The Cheviots, standing at 815 metres! On a clear day, you can see as far as the Lake District and even, some claim, Edinburgh.

The weather as you reach the summit can be a bit temperamental though so prepare for times when it is foggy and cold… it is the North East after all!

A little closer to home

Jesmond Dene

A family favourite, with Pets Corner, waterfalls and a variety of routes for all to enjoy. Situated just 10 minutes’ drive from Hotel Indigo Newcastle with numerous parking spaces nearby.

Central Arcade

Located in the city centre, there are a number of quirky and boutique shops to enjoy. This triple-domed building was originally a commercial exchange and newsroom and later an art gallery. It was rebuilt in 1906 after a fire, to create a cut-through from Newcastle’s famousĀ Grey StreetĀ to Market Street and Grainger Street.

With Hotel Indigo Newcastle based less than a five minute walk from Newcastle Central Train Station, over 100 car parking spaces on site and a team passionate about all things North East, why don’t you get in touch to find out more and start planning your next trip to Newcastle.

Take advantage of our ā€œStay and Exploreā€ package to keep you fuelled for your trips around the North East!
