Waiting for that summer feeling to kick in? Well, you might be in luck!

The Toon and the North East are high on the list of popular destinations for UK residents holidaying at home and for visitors from overseas, thanks to the city’s history, architecture and an exciting variety of events!

NE1 Ltd has planned a summer of exciting new opportunities for holidaymakers to take full advantage of. Starting with the Thomas Cook Airlines Quayside Seaside, creating that desired holiday feel with the glowing palm trees, the sand in between your toes, the sun (we hope) on your face and that oh-so-important cocktail or Geordie-brewed Brown Ale. Even if you get a little hungry, they have added an authentic Mexican restaurant alongside the sand to flush away those siesta feels.

The Screen on the Green is also coming back for another year! Any member of the public can sit and enjoy a free open-air film filled, including all the family favourites, new and old, throughout the school summer holidays!

Car lovers this one is for you! Newcastle Motor Show is coming to town, and this year it’s bigger than ever! On the 8th and 9th July, the UK’s biggest open-air motor show is here to take over the city centre for a spectacular weekend filled with motoring themed fun.

For all you foodies, NE1 Restaurant Week is returning on the 5th to the 11th August for a week filled with great food with even better prices! Tuck into your favourite grub or explore new foods for half the price!

If you’re looking to take a break and explore a vibrant, dynamic and culture-filled city this summer, then come to Newcastle – one of the top places to visit in 2018 as voted for by Rough Guides!

A brilliant hotel, centrally positioned and so a great location for exploring the city. We found it quiet at night and slept well. The room was comfortable and with all the facilities you would wish for - lots of plug sockets too for chargers etc. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully restored so it retained a lot of its character. The staff were exceptionally friendly and upbeat, and had a sense of fun - seemed to enjoy their work, which is a real plus if you’re in a place for a few days, their breakfasts were delicious both continental and cooked.
